Director Of Nursing Services
Ensures the development of clinical proficiency in clinical services in nursing and midwifery
Sets standards for nursing/midwifery practices in the hospital
Ensures equitable distribution of nursing and midwifery personnel in the hospital
Prepares regular and annual reports to the Chief Executive Officer
Handles the welfare issues of nursing and midwifery personnel
Collaborates with the HR Department to assess training needs and development of nurses and midwives
Participates in policy development, analysis and review that affect nursing and midwifery services
Develops short and long-term goals and plans for the entire nursing department
Coordinates with other medical staff to ensure hospital efficiency
Ensures that all patient care plans have the documentation necessary to provide the proper type of care
Contributes to research and development activities in nursing and midwifery within the hospital
Establishes and promotes networks with local and international nursing and midwifery organizations
Qualification & Experience
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Nursing/Midwifery with at least seven (7) years’ experience as a practitioner
The last 5 years must be in a management position preferably in Private or Public Health Sector
Qualification in Health Services Management or Clinical Leadership would be an advantage
Must not be more than fifty (50) years by June 2020
Evidence of leadership and continuous professional development
Must be able to design and implement quality improvement programs to improve quality of care
Must possess outstanding critical thinking and organizational skills as well as in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies
Must be a good team player with good interpersonal and conflict management skills
Proven capacity to motivate, manage and supervise staff
Ability to prepare reports with good communication skills etc.
Previous work experience outside Ghana would be an added advantage
